Yesterday on Facebook live I shared a bit about my dad’s philosophy regarding worrying. The title of the session is How to Guard Your Emotions Through the Corona Crisis. My dad was still cutting grass and driving when he was 93 years of age. He lived through the Spanish Flu during 1918. He was almost 98 when he died from an accident. Below is a picture of him when he was 97. My guess is you’ve never heard the perspective I shared regarding worrying and your emotions from a practical and Biblical viewpoint. If you missed the session you can check it out on YouTube. Here’s the link:
One unique aspect of my father’s habits was that he never overate unless it was a special occasion. He always ate when he was hungry and he seemed to have a unique sense of exactly what he needed or wanted to eat in a specific amount. I remember one time he said he felt like he needed to eat apples. He ate three apples and then said that’s what he felt like his body needed. This is quite the opposite of what occurs with emotional eating. Emotional eating causes you to eat when you’re not hungry.
Especially during this homebound time, you’re probably eating more due to stress, emotions, boredom, frustration and concerns. You’re not alone. Many people told me they gained an extra 15 pounds. In the next several weeks I will be sharing best, get started tips addressing how to stop the overeating and lose those extra pesky pounds that are expanding your waistline.
